Author/Photographer School Visit

It was an exciting afternoon of fun and learning during a recent author/photographer visit to a host of energetic learners in rural Montana. The first graders had been reading books from the Meet the Applemans series, and the visit was a celebration of all their hard work.

After a question and answer session and a presentation on how story ideas are generated, students enjoyed ranch-themed activities at several classroom centers. The centers included making applesauce, digging for fossils and gems, book discussions and writing, decorating a box for their books, and buying and selling merchandise from each other at the "ranch store".
